Handle bar conversion
Hi all! This is my first time in this forum so be gentle with me! Anyway I am the proud owner of an SV 650 S (faired) on a 02 plate. The question I have is. Does anyone know if such a kit exist to raise the handlebars a couple of inches or so. (No ape hanger jokes please!) I do know that the Naked SV has a diffent top yoke, so theres no go there. Any info at all will be appreciated. Spadge.

Is it possible to swap the yokes between faired & unfaired bikes to accomodate different style bars, if so & you want naked style bars we may be able to do a swap. PM me.

It is possible to swap the yokes, but you'll probably aso need to swap throttle, clutch and choke cables and brake lines (as the faired ones will be too short to reach the naked bars). Also, the faired front brake master cylinder reserrvoir won't fit easily on the naked bars.
Then I'm not sure if the naked bars will foul the front fairing! Ok, so not a lot of use then, but just pointing out some things you need to bear in mind! |

No need to swap any cables, just re route them, the only thing that needs to be changed is the length of the brake pipe, get round this by fitting braided brake lines.
With a little bit of skill and thought you can mount the master cylinder on the bars, a jubilee clip will work fine if you are not fussy on looks. I have renthals on my sv with the above setup and have no problems. |

Im new here from accross the pond but I have an 04SVS and I put a Speigler/ LSL super bike bar kit on mine and it raises the bars up about 4 inch's. It came with new brakelines also.
