Anyone want to come to East Anglia this sunday?
A couple of the Essex girls and boys have laid down the challenge to those young upstarts from Guidlford to join us for the 21st Copdock Bike Show.
You'd all be welcome to come along too. I'm thinking of something like 11 am at Boreham services, but this is still a bendy plan!

Bikers from across England and some from Europe will head out on the highway to Ipswich’s Trinity Park this Sunday for the 21st Copdock Motorcycle Show. Regarded as the largest one-day event of its kind in the region, this year’s anniversary event is set to be the biggest and best yet. “Last year we had 150 show bikes pre-registered, 450 bikes entered on club stands and more than 50 individual bike clubs stands and 200 trade stands pre-booked, the early signs are we could even top this for the 21st show making it certainly one to remember,” says David Baldry, chairman of the Copdock Classic Motorcycle Club. The non-profit making organisation, all of who give their time for free, has spent the last 12 month’s planning the show, run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Bolddog Lings FMX Display Team, Honda’s official and the UK’s number one motorcycle display team, continues to push the boundaries of FMX and lead the way for all motorcycle display teams. Expect the latest heart-stopping tricks usually only seen on TV. Joining them will be the Two Brothers Racing Stunt Display Team. Having a pair of stunt riders performing in the tarmac arena is a first for the show. Mark “Vandal” Vandriel and Ashley Mark, make their first visit to the show and are sure to thrill with their freestyle stunt riding. Organisers are pleased to welcome back Ken Fox’s Wall of Death. The only one of its kind in the country, riders perform stunts 18ft off the ground on a vertical circular wall. Austin Vince will be in the Trinity Room talking about his motorcycling travelling adventures. The Motorcycle World Land Speed Record Streamliner will also be on display. The saying goes anyone can build a fast motorcycle, they just need enough money to throw at it. To build the world’s fastest motorcycle takes a little more thought. If you only do what everybody else has done, you will only get what they got. The world land speed record for motorcycles, currently held by the US, is 376.363 mph, set in 2010. The Angelic Bulldog Team are well into the process of building a machine capable of 400mph, with the aim of claiming the record for Britain. Other attractions include a Motoball display, race Teams, CAM Rider motorcycle training, Pre-65 scramblers and displays from local race teams past and present. There will also be hundreds of trade stands, more than 40 motorcycle club stands, a large auto jumble, live music, food, real ale from the award-winning Dove Street Inn and much more. More than 150 motorcycles from 50 manufactures will be on show in the new Trinity Exhibition Hall on the day. Their ages range from 1915 to the present day. Even the bike park itself proves to be an attraction with thousands of bikes on display. Proceeds from the grand draw, the prize a 1981 Triumph T140 Bonneville worth more than £4,500, will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The continuing success of the show has enabled the club to donate more than £200,000 to charities and good causes to date.
