Re: Cruisers
Yeah cruisers are ****e. Get an SV because they have great brakes, comfortable seats. great suspension, chilled riding position and you can wear chaps without being accused of being gay. You read this on the internet so it must be true.

The XV950 I had as a loaner was surprisingly good. Being realistic, how much performance does one really need for the road? I found the XV950 has more than enough going for it to provide a very satisfying riding experience on public roads. The only thing I would have changed was the seat, the stock one is nowhere near comfortable enough for me. Last edited by Talking Heads; 01-05-18 at 02:20 PM. |

Re: Cruisers
I test rode a Rocket. Amazingly eager engine for a cruiser. Perhaps dangerously so. But it handles better than mine too. But still not a lot of use in London traffic.

Re: Cruisers
The riding position on a cruiser (pronounced 'poseure') does make the rider look as though they are doing an impression of a human parachute, designed to catch every bit of wind. My brother in law is a cruiser fan, bit of a poser, more interested in image than handling or comfort. I have sat on his 1300 Yamaha V twin, and riding position felt really, really strange, also vibration not good.

Re: Cruisers
Well it will. Not because it's a daft position (which it is) but mainly cos you're not used to it.
No doubt when I've got my SV repaired and jump back on it, it will also feel really odd. You get a similar feeling going from driving a big 4x4 to a 2 seater sports car. I've owned both at one point and it's definitely weird. The sports car feels like you're lying down with your bum on the tarmac.
