Default High mileage

Hello to all, this is my first post.
I found the forum yesterday whilst investigating a gear change problem and found a great deal of advice in the posts, fixing the problem this morning (clean and lube the external gearchange components).
I have a 1999 SV650S, bought in 2003 with about 7000 miles on the clock.
It now has 69,355.
Riden most days all through the year.
Never had a dealer service since I bought it ( Im a helicopter mech so nuts and bolts don't scare).
In the 5 years we have been together it has only let me down twice, both snapped chains (due ti fit and forget scottoiler!).
Any more high mileage bikes out there?

And thanks again for the advice I got from your posting.

Mine's comparatively young at a shade over 40K on the clocks (K4), most of that has been put on in the past 2 years. I expect my mileage to go up to around 20-25K per year for the next 2 years. Nice to see another bike which is actually used. There are several SVs with over 100,000 on the engine, it seems so long as they are looked after, the engines run forever- it's the other bits that wear out first.

Welcome to the forum, BTW.

The SV800 has over 98,500 miles on the clock, she is used and abused alot but is well loved in the end (probably more than a helicopter).

My K5 has done 36,500 miles but they were all done in the first 2 years, it's barely moved out of the garage for the last 12 months whilst i've been using the ducati.

3,500 miles for me /? luke & daz were taking the p1ss because my tyres have squared off quite alot - is this normal after only 3.5k miles? I am a big lad but I wouldn't have thought it would have affected the back tyre so badly... gonna get some new tyres next week... if I don't buy a new welder first?! one or the other - what would you do?!
