Default Abba front lift too short?

Has anyone used an abba front lift with a pointy sv? I've just bought a set of 2nd hand abba stands + sv kit off ebay but the front lift doesn't reach the sump when the bike is on the stand?

I could find a piece of wood or something to put in between the lift and the sump to give it a bit of extra height, but that kind of defeats the purpose!

Any ideas?

Never heard of them being to short...

I use a car jack with my NWS stand, I always use a piece of wood to add protection for the engine.

The abba stand itself is fine and lifts the bike perfectly - its just the lift: http://www.abbastands.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=2

When the bike is up the lift doesn't reach the sump even with the pad screwed all the way out.

That is what I was on about. I place a car jack, you would use the Abba lift, under the front with a piece of wood between the top surface and engine.

drew had this promlem, it seems a bit odd you pay all that money and you have to use car jacks and bits of wood

Exactly, plus with the ABBA you need to buy new fitting kits when you change bikes. The bit I like most about my NWS is no matter what bike I have or I am servicing the stand fits with no modifications or added extras.

Aye, well fortunately I didn't pay new prices for them, so I'm not as annoyed as I could have been

It just needs a longer threaded bolt, but where i'd get one from I dunno.

I emailed abba directly and they've said it's a common issue, they're sending me a longer bolt
