The road along the bottom "military road"has allot of buses on it.And near the car park that fell in the sea had roadworks on it last summer.
They have a Big Scooter rally on it Avoid that weekend!!

It's not very big and not many roads. It's a great venue for a cycling weekend but think you'd quickly get bored on a motorbike.

To answer your questions: Eiding roads? Yes, if you know where to look, but don't expect the Isle of Man or Wales/Yorkshire AR potential? Given the cost of the ferry and the fact that it's right at one end of the country no, I've considered it Mini Ar? It has weekend away potential but previous attempts of mine have been met with **** all interest... Comments? Get orf moi land yer gurt mallyshag 'tis toime fur nammit

White link to Fishguard's not too pricy after 7 pm.
But its more a family destination thing. Fun. interesting fossil dino stuff. easy for me to get too. AR I don't know ? You need good marshals who know the routes..

I could easily keep a group interested for a long weekend in the summer, shame the bank holiday weekends are also scooter/monkey bike rallies... If people are interested in treating it as a bit of an adventure, to be appreciated ironically as a scenic weekend and not like a racetrack then I'll happily be a leader, I doubt there's anyone on here who's done more miles on the IOW than I have

I was hoping this would be a sort of a stepping stone / learning curve for a over the channel ride out...
Ferry / packing everything you need on a bike .. Sort of an adventure.. There may be something In the pipeline for a channel hop.. If we did come, it would be great if you could lead.

You don't tie up your bike on the iow ferry it's smooth crossing.
But it's a start

tonyuk - if you'd like to do it it's definitely a bit different to the usual UK rides, but it's not really like a proper cross channel ferry... If you'd like to get over to France then honestly? Just pack your bag and do it, you really can't go wrong!! - "Ride" magazine's January edition has a supplement about touring for 2014, they have a couple of nice looking rides in northern France you could do on the cheap in a weekend as a training run - plus the roads would be infinitely better than those on the IOW Or maybe I'm just spiteful of paying thousands over the years to ****elink and Red-****ers to escape the Island!!!

I live up in Wiltshire now, but I'd be happy to drop by the old homestead for a weekend if I've got a bit of notice...
If I can't make it I'll happily give you the roads to travel on!! Get in touch dude
