Smile Im going for the SV 1000

just got a bit of a promotion at my place of business, so now the out of reach dream, that is a new bike is getting closer by the day, i had thought about SS600 (750) quite alot, ive mulled over ducati's, Gixxers and the like..
but as the title reads im going for the thou, and keeping my 650 its more practicle for me and the thou is less in insurance than the gixxer series.
Has anyone heard of a thou FE (final edition) coming out?
i know the differences in the two bike will be quite great but im confident i can handle it if i take my time.
any tips from anyone? also what would be a decent price on a K5?

cheers

Congratulations on the promotion, well done!

I've not heard of a final edition but there is a Classic naked model in all black that looks pretty good. Have fun searching.

Well done with job et al.

Personally, I would go for something different if you are keeping the SV650, why have another SV? Sure it will be a little different, but not different enough. Why not sell the SV650 and get something cheap/different to run about on if you defo want the SV1000?

Just a idea like.

I had a look through the brochure recently. The new 2007 SV1000 is the 'Final Edition'.

Thanks folks,
i wanted the SV1000 because A, i love the SV B, the insurance is still low,
i would have something else but i cant streach that far with it cash wise,
i wont be selling the SV 650 as im tied into that with a stupid credit plan, and its pretty smashed up at the mo.
im not a big Buy and sell guy myself, i like to keep stuff

"A" is a good reason to go with the SV1000.

"B" and the rest of it is a bad reason and could lead to dissatisfaction. I had a string of compromises for various reasons and was never happy.

So it still might be worth test riding a load of bikes just to be 100% certain. It maybe that after test riding the SV1000, IL4 600, 750's and IL4 1000's that you decided to wait until the credit plan ends and save up some more money...

With what I lost buying and selling bikes that I was not happy with, it would have been cheaper to just have gone out and bought the "too expensive" bike I really wanted in the first place.
