02 Curvy Handle Bar conversion

I want to raise the bars on my 02 SV650S. Has anyone done this??

If so what was involved and how easy was it?

I've been told to 'swap' the top yoke for a 650N one which has risers on instead of clip ons. Would this also work with a Bandit yoke?

I've not done it but I have had to replace the top yoke on my naked 02 SV650 and I put wider and taller bars on it.
I was told that a bandit yoke won't fit (i thought it would and they're easier to find and cheaper) but no. So it does need to be a 650N yoke, check the for sale thread cos I think that clarkySV has one for sale. They can be quite expensive, I got lucky and got one for £35.
you'll also need longer brake lines (or at least the first line to the splitter that's bolted to the bottom yoke), longer clutch cable and the throttle cables from the naked version.

It sounds daunting but it's not too much work for the added comfort

I had my GSXR top yoke drilled and fitted with supporting alloy blocks in the web underneath to maintain strength so that I could fit risers to my pointy. If you cannot find a replacement yoke, this is an option open to you, but not a job to do quick with a hammer drill on the kitchen side.
