hello
just wondered what standard power output would be for a standard sv and if anyone has ever done a big bore sv. just wondered how much difference the extra cc made cheers Ross |

Re: power output
68-71bhp.
Been done. How much money do you have to exchange for power? 100bhp will cost you £2k at least.

Re: power output
i have brought a road sv to turn into a race bike. but just come back from the dyno and my bike had 78 hp, but had over 10hp difference at 7000rpm.The bike also had loads more torque
The bike i was comparing it against is right on the limit for racing so wondered why my bike was showing more power. |

Re: power output
You can get that with race pipes, filter, cams.

Re: power output
it only has a can on it and race filter, sure something must been done inside the engine. only problem is i am only allowed 72 h for the bemsee minitwin series

Re: power output
So it's a lot stronger compared to a minitwins limit engine.. compared on the same dyno etc?
Get the spanners out and have a look. I doubt anyone would have big bored it without a proper race system first.

Re: power output
it is a lot stronger than a minitwins engine, and the dyno guy said even with just cams in it you would not expect to get that much power gain, not all over the power band and with the massive increase in torque.

Re: power output
Short of pulling it to bits and measuring the bore I don't know how you would look at this.
Have a gander down the inlet port and see if it looks stock or ported.
