Bike dead - SV650.org

bike is dead!

washed it the other day, drove it back into the garage using the engine.. turned off!

came back, and now there's absolutely nothing - no power, no lights, no starter, nothing.. didn't do anything unusual during cleaning!

is this a common fault? i've got the battery on charge at the moment (so difficult to get it out from under the seat) but i fear it could be something else!

I had this with my SV, it blew the main 30amp fuse when I turned the ignition on to go for a ride one day...

Have you checked them ?

checked all the fuses, all fine. i think it's just a flat battery, i've had it on a fast charge for the last 1 hour, and it now powers the dash but not the starter motor (cranks once then dies)

probably left it on park in the garage

That happened to me once, it turns out I left the ignition on. I had to wait for my brother to come home so he could help me push the bike up driveway. I couldn't miss out on that ride I had planned!

If it jump starts my only word on warning would be that the speedo does not work properly until the battery has some decent charge in it.
