- SZR660: The project...
- K5 SV650S: K7 GSXR750 front end, ZX6RR shock, GB Moto rearsets, Hel brake lines, Renthal risers, Tuono bars, V-Rod headlamp, "JMV" belly pan ~SOLD~ (wonder where it is now)

Only really at high RPM, and, as these seem to be re-engineered JAP engines I don't think they'll rev that high

That must be a simply colossal amount of work. I was once told that even if you were to do a straight rebuild of period engines now they'd be more reliable simply because our understanding of metallurgy and materials are better. I assume these are fairly faithful reproductions with a few changes to aid reliability, but I'd be very interested in details!

The purists will probably be upset, but less so than if you took a modern engine and put it in a classic bike

They look quite compact - I reckon you could fit 3 of them in a custom frame

It has been a monumental effort on his part and he's had to turn away a lot of paying work over the last couple of years. That said he has a few orders in already (from some seemingly wealthy people as these aren't cheap!) so hopes to be recovering some of his costs soon. You're right about the types of changes -I suspect mostly to address problems he's been frustrated by over years of rebuilding these for racing -things like oil passageways, materials etc (from memory that is- I'm sure there's plenty more).

Not sure about actual dimensions, but I think it's 1100cc?

Not unless you want to go more than 185 mph

1955 Christchurch New Zealand Russell Wright Vincent - HRD 998 cc (60.9 cu in) 184.83 mph

World land speed record on a 998 push rod V twin Vincent.
