Inconclusive Owenski. from the definition of drive:
3. To guide, control, or direct (a vehicle).
Sounds like what you do when you ride a bike.

Drive is technically correct, just sounds stupid. Ride is also technically correct and sounds right.

I don't do either - it's cold, wet and miserable out there, so I stay home on the sofa.

I RIDE on the bus to the station, even though I am actually in it though.

I say ride but I've noticed more and more people referring to it as driving.

I'd like to champion what I now choose to refer to as "The third way". Henceforth I shall pilot my motorcycle.

I imagine that you "ride" a roller-coaster, or "ride" a bus. Forms of transportation without control. I'd take passengers for "rides" on the back of my bike.

If I was "riding" my bike, I imagine sitting there without my hands on the bars, and it autonomously taking me to my destination!

I learnt how to "drive" my bike; anybody can "ride" one.

However, I always say I "ride" my bike! Never thought about it.
