Sutton Hoo trip
A little idea for when the warmer weather returns. Treacle and I went to the British Museum recently and saw some stuff about Sutton Hoo. We agreed that it would make a good day out so I thought I'd ask if anyone else in the Essex area fancies a trip up there one weekend in the spring. I'd let the Soho mob know, and offer bacon sarnies round at mine in Chelmsford before setting off. It's straight up the A12 on the other side of Ipswich, so those based in the Colchester area or beyond could just join us part way there.
Pub lunch or afternoon tea somewhere perhaps. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-suttonhoo Any interest?

Re: Sutton Hoo trip
Its supposed to be a geat place. My brother is part of a viking re-enactment group and they often set up a viking vilage there with displays of fighting, needlework etc.., i've seen his gear and its really impressive! Im sure it'd be a good day out x

Go to Snape maltings via Rendlesham forest.....hugely recommended. Dicky Ticker knows the way.

Re: Sutton Hoo trip
Sutton Hoo is on my list of places I want to visit. To combine it with a ride with a bunch of orgers would make a great day out. IMO
