chocolate chain adjuster plates

Does anyone know where I can get some Chain adjuster plates that wont turn to mush when I loosen the rear wheel to adjust the chain
I tighten the rear axle nut to its specified torque setting, and then when I loosen it to adjust the chain, the crappy "washers" (as Suzuki call them) bend and turn with the nut... The worst part about this is, that it has ruined what was once a nice matt black swing arm !

I have replaced them countless time now and I am hoping someone knows where to find some news ones that are made out of proper metal rather then the crap Suzuki use as standard .

speaking of adjusters. i have got a gooood tip for everyone. now we all know that both adjusters are the same hole size but the spindle is narrower at the thread end, this give a false reading when adjusting your chin (can be as much as 1 mark on swing arm difference) so what i done was to get an O ring and put this on before the nut and move it up to the adjuster to centralise the adjuster on the spindle put nut on and tighten, it crushes O ring into gap, viola no more loose adjuster which gives a better reading when adjusting.

the size of O ring i used was 19od x 14id

While that's a good tip, don't forget to make sure your adjuster marks are actually correct before you use them, some are well out!!

To stop the plate turning and scoring your swinger, use a small G Clamp to gently clamp the plte against the swing arm while you un-do the nut. This applies enough resistance to stop the problem that you describe but don't overtighten the clamp.

Or buy an SV Thou with proper chain adjusters

Another reason I want a sv1000 swing arm

I'm glad its not just me that has had this problem with the rubbish monkey metal, I too would like to find some better chain adjuster thingies.
Is an SV thou swing arm a straight swap ????

I had this problem when I first got my bike. When undoing the axle bolt do you have a socket/spanner on both sides turning against each other?
I found this stopped the problem for me.
The other thing I do is liberally coat the plate adjusters with grease on both sides - stops them rusting up.
