Default Fuel Light

Hi all,

My SV650 K3 fuel light does work (can see it coming on when I turn the key), but does not kick in when I'm on low fuel.
Is there anything I should try to do before I take it to the shop?

I also noticed some sort of constant high pitch noise near the tank when the bike is running, similar to the fuel injection noise when you turn the key. Not sure if it could be related.

Cheers

OOps sorry,

Can a Mod move this to "Bikes - Talk & Issues" please? I've created it in the wrong section.

Have you actually ran out of fuel because of it yet, many people think there fuel level is lower than it is.

Yes, it did run out of fuel ... I wanted to see how many miles I could do on reserve ... but the bike didn't cooperate hehe

Bad contact somewhere between the sensor and the clocks.

Oopp's... Could be a light blown, could be a dodgy wire, and it could even be the fuel sensor.

Check you connections and if your good with spanners and allen keys, you could have a look to see if it is the indication light in the clocks that is gone. A dealer would have to check there first and charge you a fortune so it wouldn't be a wasted effort.

First thing I'd check is that the connector under the tank is plugged in
