Finalised - 23rd April 2006 *be there or be square!*
Providing weather is good, this is the plan.
If there is any rain I think its fair to say the rideout will be cancelled on the day, will be up early to check and post to confirm. When: Sunday 23rd April 2006, 10.45am departure If anyone wants to meet before, I will be there at 9.30am for brekkie! From: Oakdene To: Kent Motorcycles - H's (and beyond for the hardcore)[/b] Route: (Rictus to lead to Rye) - Leave Oakdene - B2016 (seven mile lane) - A 228 - Left onto B2015 (maidstone Road) - First right onto B2162 - Main Left in Horsmonden (goudhurst Road) - Right at "T" B2079 - Left B2084 - Left A262 - Right B2085 (To Hartley) - Right A229 (through Hawkhurst) - Left B2244 (Hastings Road) - Third Left (Dagg Lane/ towards Bodiam) - Follow through to Nortiam (Ewhurst Lane) - Right onto A28 - Left onto B2089 Arrive Rye - Stop for a cuppa - Leave Rye - Head across the Marsh on A259 and arrive at Brenzett, Little Chef/Petrol Station **Refuel for those who need it** - 2nd Exit on roundabout -A2070 towards Ashford **Dont go too mad, turn off soon** - 4th right exit - signposted Hamstreet - Follow B2067 through Hamstreet, Ruckinge, Bilsington - Right then immediate left at T Junction - Through Court-At-Street - 1st left after Port Lympne overhead bridge - Right at T onto A20 **will stop here at the Airport Cafe to allow people to group up** - Through Newingreen, take the left lane at the split - Signposted Folkestone - Straight over first roundabout - Double back, 4th exit next roundabout - First left follow A20 to Cheriton M20 roundabout - First exit onto M20 - Follow through the Roundhill Tunnels **MAKE LOADS OF VTWIN/INLINE MIXED NOISE!!!** - 1st Exit after tunnels - 3rd Exit at roundabout - signposted Hawkinge - Through Hawkinge, Densole, Selstead and Denton - First main road right after Denton - signposted Folkestone/Dover - Right onto A2 - Left into layby (Kent Motorcycles www.kentmotorcycles.co.uk) Stop here to get some lunch and a cuppa. **END** Start :- 10.45 stop Rye :-12.20 - 12:50 Fill up Brenzett :-1:20 - 1:35 (if everyonestarts with a full tank there'll be no need here) Arrivel H's :-2:30 (2:15 without fuel stop) Total Distance start - finish 86 miles From here, I'm not going to make plans, as people will most likely want to disperse either home or for further riding (which is likely to include me) but this can be your own plans. As a route back to Oakdene may be needed by some: A2 to Canterbury - A28 to M20 - exit Jct 3- M26- first juct (go under motorway) A20 to Oakdene. PLEASE CAN EVERYONE FILL UP AT THE OAKDENE FILLING STATION, SO WE DON'T HAVE TO STOP LOADS OF TIMES FOR SEPERATE REFUELLING, TA! Also if everyone can make sure they keep the bike behind in their mirrors, and if you can't see them, slow down or stop at the next junction (thanks to Rictus for the idea) Can I please have names of people who are coming so I can get a list going? Have Hall13UK and Viney willing to cover tail end and hopefully pick up stragglers I will take phone numbers etc closer to the time. Cheers, Jake Disclaimer: This isn't an organised rideout therefore there is no insurance against accidents, or getting lost! |

Not sure yet, depends on how we get on with our garden project
But could be up for this, but will probably not do the whole ride out, probably will leave you all at Little Chef after coffee at Rye. |
