Default thinking of upgrading soon, but what to ?

as the title says, i currently ride a CBR6, ive had it for about 2 and a half years, but its getting on a bit now, so im looking to get a new bike soon, but im not sure what.

i was hoping you guys would be able to toss your thoughts in about the bikes that im thinking about, or just your thoughts on anything would be helpful.

i like about the CBR 6;
its got plenty of power
it handles like a dream, light, flickable and holds the road great, plenty of feedback and goes where ever i want it to.
its very reliable, and stands up very well to my all weather riding and commuting.
never let me down.
the brakes are good enough for me.
practical, can hold plenty of luggage if i need it to/
looks great, sounds quite tasty, and isnt too expensive to run.
spares are cheapish, and easy to come by.

things i dont like about it;
lots of vibrations through the bars, numb hands
after about 4hrs riding, i start to get aches in my shoulders
the power is there, but you gotta keep searching for it and keep the revs up.

im currently thinking about the fireblade, but it isnt so practical for carrying luggage and touring due to the underseat exhaust.
insurance is high.
wont be as comfy as my 600.

im also thinking about V-engined bikes, such as the VFR, firestorm, SV1000 and RSV.
the viffer doesnt do it for me with regards to looks,
the SV1000 - im unsure it will make a good all weather bike. (please dont flame me for that one )
the RSV is probably gonna be too expensive to run.

that leaves the firestorm, how will it compare to a CBR6 ?

any other bikes i should consider ?

If you're thinking v-twin, don't discount the Falco and the Tuono!

The firestorm won't be as quick or handle as well as your CBR.

What exactly do you want from a bike? Performance or comfort? Do you want a sports bike or a tourer? You can't have it all.

Why dismiss the VFR800 on looks if it does everything you want?

What about a Bird or is that too big?

i am now also considering the VFR ( a new one oviously)
with some cosmetic modifications.

anyone got any pics of the new one with race pipes ? or different fairings or anything ?

i got a mad idea, of taking a new VFR, and giving it a fireblade paint job

thats the trouble, i want it all from a bike,

i am now reconsidering the VFR, as that will probably do everything i want it to. plus it doesnt look too bad with hard luggage (minus the topbox )

yeah after some research, ive discovered that the firestorm isnt for me, as nice as it looks, it doesnt do much that i want a bike to do.

i think the blackbird will be a bit big for city commuting and filtering and stuff,

I suppose it depends how much of a hurry you are in to change. Might take a while to track one down but they must be out there.
