[QUOTE=Red ones;3066853]There should be a white connector for the front lights to the wiring loom. Any idea where it hides before I tackle the fairing removal fiasco?

Suzuki mechanic smiled when I saw him just now. Go for the switch gear and connector block remove corrosion and spray with ACF50.

Sounds good, there's nothing wrong with those voltages at the battery.

DO you have any more details on that mod, for example the parts used etc?

Well.
I looked for the big connector under the air box but couldn't find it, so I'm not sure it's actually on the Sk8. I pulled all the connectors to the lights I could find except one that is clearly behind the console but it can't work out how to get to.
I pulled all the lighting fuses and put them back in. I stripped the switch gear on the handle bars on both sides.
All connectors checked for corrosion and then sprayed with ACF50

While I was at it I also changed the oil filter.

Lights still dim with the indicators but not as much as before. I couldn't see any flickering at tick over.

Just two fused SPST relays which are driven by the old headlamp wires and some h e a v y cable to bring the battery to the contacts and on to the bulb filaments.

Had anyone got any advice on the mythical main electrical connector on the LHS under the airbox? I can't find anything that looks suitable are that I can break in to.

Is it this bit just inside the frame?

You wish it was that easy to get to! It's more behind the steering stem. Prepare for skinned knuckles

Nope. Can't see it.

It has to be that connector that's the problem too. The dash dims in time with the revs, but the charging system and battery are all spot on.
I just need to sort the connector out!!
