Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Errmm, will it taste £14950 better? No!
£60 to £150 quid gets you the best whiskies out there IMO, any more than that is exclusivity. |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Like everything in life it is a matter of personal taste. I find 16 year old exclusive--to my wallet, but worth it. Other 12 year single malts vary enormously from distillery to distillery so it is down to your own taste as to which is your preference.
There is no such thing as a bad Scottish single malt |

As my very own Granddad also says, with the final addition of "but some are certainly much better than others!"

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Nice bottle of 12yo Highland Park from my lovely lady
and a 10yo Jura from the in-laws. the Park is a tried and tested fave of mine, but the Jura i had never tried before, seems ok, I think there are better flavours for the same cash. P

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Pete, i think its sainsburys (but may be another supermarket) are doing an oak finish glenfiddich for £20, Morissons are definately doing Old Pultney for £24, and Tesco are doing aberlour for £20 (the one we shared at the AR)
AT the moment i am enjoying my Balvenie golden cask, expensive but absolutely stunning. |

Back to the trusted "Old Poultney" and as a side line found that we have a Whiskey Shop near us which happens to have a steady supply of Lindisfarne Mead.........Very very easy to drink.

New Bells advert on the TV...
"Fine Scotch Whiskies! Excellent on their own, but at Bells we blend them together into something much better" Cough! What? Sorry? |
