Default Bike not revving....

Hi,

Finnally got my bike back from the insurance company. looks ok except someone robbed the clock!!!

Anyway

it starts ok (after I optimated it overnight) but it runs a bit rough and won't rev up at all. If i move the throttle it splutters and dies.

Almost sounds like it's misfiring...

Ideas?

Where should I look to start with.

Obvious answers are also welcome as in my experience it is these at fault!

There is petrol in the tank before anyone asks

How long was it stood for, before you got it back ?

If its been stood for ages, I would wager that the fuel has gone off maybe ?

Try a fresh tank of fuel and then see if its any better. Unleaded doesnt keep well and it goes stale over time.

I'd try that first. Might be worth taking the spark plugs out and giving them a clean.

Could also be water in the fuel, if you have carbed bike you can drain the fuel out of the carbs, might be worth doing that anyway. If you have a K3 onwards I'm not sure if you can do that though...

Sorry but someone stole your clock?

Are you going to complain about that? I sure would, even if it was a cheap casio job.

yeah!

bit miffed to be honest! it was only a cheapie one on the yoke, oxford one I think.

I was was just pleased that something more hadn't gone missing!

A few years ago my bike got wrecked when I binned it, once i was out of hospital I went to get it off the breakers and he was really funy with me saying it wasn't worth buying back etc. etc.

only when I got it home did i notice he had nicked loads of stuff of it! scotoiler, fairing panels etc.

was MIGHTLY annoyed, I complained and was told they must have been "lost at the sceane of the accident"

GRRRR!!!

Some breakers are just crooks!
