Once you ride something like a Gixer, you really wont want to ride the SV much anymore.

It's just a bike.....

And better to chuck the SV down the track than a new bike.

No point going on a track with a different bike, won't teach you anything about using your usual bike. And the soggy SV stock suspension and ground clearance won't inspire any confidence.

I want to do track days for fun and confidence, not so much about learning about the bike I ride.

Since my off, over 2 years I still have the mental block and I want to get over that. I am not throwing a brand spanking new Gixer around a track when I have a SV that I can use and no point me buying another bike to throw around the track.

I may get my confidence by just riding the Gixer but if I do then the SV can be sold.

Or I may find something more fun to spend £2k on and sell the SV for that, but I love Zuky

Sell the SV, hire a bike for the track.

Quids in!

Sell the SV and buy my GSX-R 750 K5 in (slightly tatty matt) black. Sorted. When do you want to come and look at it?

K7's are known as being the best gixxer 750 I've been looking at them (and older blades) and taz have a few at or around the £5k mark. IMO i would buy now and grab a bargain as showrooms tail off this time of year. Apart from my last new bike i always buy around Sept Oct time. I paid £3700 for a bandit with loads of kit fitted, rrp was £3995!!! and got £500 off a Zed 750 and 0%. The only reason i bought my cb1000r in april was due to the cb being priced on the old price £7495 when new stock would be priced at £8295. kerching
