R&G cover turning my bike red!
Ok ive got an r&G cover. So far im not entirely enamoured with my 40 quid purchase (much happier with the free lock that came with it) anyhow ive noticed recently that on the edges on the bike where it rubs being put on its coloured the edges of the bike!!!
has anyone else experienced this? |

Re: R&G cover turning my bike red!!
This is exactly what happened to me! I bought the cover on the strength of a Ride magazine review.
after about 6 months or so of use i noticed small mark on the front fairing sides. at first i too thought it was tranferring colour but whats actually happening is its rubbing the paint away! i was a bit 'annoyed' about this to say the least as my bike was a very clean/tidy SK3 and i notice the marks even if no one else does until they are pointed out. prior to owning this cover i had an oxford stormex (good but expensive) and recently i changed to the oxford rainex cover. Rubbing the paint. The corners and whole back of the seat unit where it rubs every time I remove the cover has worn away. I thought it may be down to thin Yamaha paint.........

Re: R&G cover turning my bike red!!
Not had an issue with mine. It's on all the time and kept outdoors. Bought it just before Christmas. Cheers for the heads-up, I'll keep an eye on that.
Also got the free lock. Left it chained up in Bradford before Christmas (not to the bike), checked at the weekend and it's still there. Nobody has nicked either the railing it was chained to, nor Bradford, so mixed results, shall we say. Adrian

Re: R&G cover turning my bike red!
20 quid argos cover does me fine! Just soak from time to time to clean it up.
