Twas indeed Alston, I pointed Hong in the direction of Middleton in teesdale while I just had the crappy old Hartside road in the dry with zero cars to play on by the time i'd done kirkstone (again free from cars) I was in 2 minds whether to mway the last bit home or stick to A and B roads. I chose the latter! Got in just after 11 absolutely knackered but grinning from ear to ear

Had a great weekend both on and off the bike, big thanks to Stuart and Dean for all their hard work. Oh and Lance for sorting the caravan for us you're a star mate

Now if you could just move the Kinlochleven loop to on my doorstep so I could go play on it every day I'd be much obliged. The 2nd loop I did with YC just behind in hot pursuit is definitely 1 of those moments that will stick in the mind even when i'm old and grey!

That was a brill weekend, apart from my chain attempting to part ways with the fazer and getting royaly soaked! Next year i will have a bike that actually works (unlike the R1) and doesn't fall apart like the fazer! :P
Good to see you guys again and good meeting the new faces (to me)

Went for a wee bimble round the Kinlochleven loop this morning - both directions.

Eventually got home at 6pm and went straight out for dinner, then got the bike back out the garage for a wash.

Great weekend. Bit of a numb bum though.

I'll try anything! I was seriously falling out with it on Saturday.

The gel pad didn't really help TBH. I took it off for yesterday's 140 mile run and then put it back on for the next 110 without much noticeable difference.

Yeah it was cloudy but dry. I set off mid-morning and the roads had dried off nicely - just a wee bit damp under the trees on the loop. Had a bit of drizzle for 10 minutes on the way back to Tyndrum but that was it.

Airhawk. I have Gel rider and pillion seat, i've fried foam pads and horse riding pads. I HAVE NOT TRIED airhawk but everyone i talk to who has cannot praise it highly enough. Its a bit expensive for my taste and will continue to put up with a moderate level of discomfort.
thats me however, you obviously spend a lot of effort and money on your bike (stunning btw) so a little extra for your own comfort....

Got back at 1am this morning - new tyre lunch time yesterday, ran it in over Rannoch Moor, then did the rest of the ride out to Aviemore, then onto past the Lecht and Glenshee. With a bit more fun in the borders and a bit of Motorway I got back - 522 miles yesterday

Now in work, with some aching muscles. Next year I'll make sure I have some tyre left before heading north!
