Default Bike running/spot lights

So I'm in the process of swapping out my SV for a CB500X as I'll be commuting a fair few miles and I want to make it really stand out (fogy or not). I was thinking about buying some running or spot lights for it and mounting those on the engine bar kit. Does anyone know if they are legal in this country and if they are what's a good system?

As a random example ......

Here's the Honda Fog lamps but I don't really fancy paying £500

white light forward, red backward are the only legal options, I run 40 ultra bright LED's (two banks of 20 with indicator repeaters in them), minimal current draw and very effective, about £7 off ebay.

I like the look of those and the V3 replacement. Maybe my winter project on the bike.
