Default Where to go on a night out in Nottingham?

Off out in Nottingham this weekend with some mates, any good places to go, general areas, specific bars etc?

Everything from smart bars (beginning of the night) to cheesey clubs (end of the night) would be appreciated, and any to avoid?

There is two decent sides of Nottingham.

Hockley

You have good pubs/bars like the Piano & Pitcher and the HAHA Bar, Late lounge, etc all nice and a good place to start.

http://www.pitcherandpiano.com/locat...rea=Nottingham

And the at the other end which is abit more expensive you have ALOT of resturants like Big Wok (AMAZING all you can eat chinese), there is a couple of tacky kareoke bars and other bars and some small clubs.
But you also have http://www.gatecrasher.com/nottingham

I recommend starting on upper parliment street, have dinner in big wok, its £10 all you can eat, may be best to book or you will be queing for ages.

Then walk to the hockley side of nottingham and have some bar time, then head back to gatecrasher and finish the night in there. You will have a damn good night

I'm due in Nottingham in September for a weekend.

We're going to see a women in a metal suit use an angle grinder on her (hopefully protected) lady bits, in the name of entertainment. Sparky sparky.

Sounds good, I will keep an eye on this thread.

Still apparently right........but once you have been to nottingham you realise that its probably due to all the men leaving to get away from nottingham 'wo-man'

Yes, I have specialist needs.

As for that "myth", I dont know, but I've heard it too. 7 women to one man, apparantly.

Well it's a stag do, so hoping to find out that the femal ratio is true

And also the reason why I need to know of some cheesier bars which are a little less sophisticated for when it all gets a bit messy.

If its a stag doo, then you will obviously want to go to hooters, and senoritas is worth a visit (Quite a classy place but out of town abit)

By "a bit messy" do you mean the pre-kebab "Vomit Olympics", i.e behaviour not in fitting with that expected at wine bars and restaurants"?

As rediculous as it sounds, no matter how old you are, take your photo ID driving licence.

Every single place in nottingham asks for ID even if you blatantly 30+ and have wrinkles. Alot of places even have scanner now to check the barcodes are real and so they have a record of who has been in and out of their place incase theres trouble.

Alot of places will ask for ID if they dont like the look of your party and dont want you in their place, in the hope that one of your party wont have ID
