Viney, It needs to be multi option.

We have a fibre optic thing in the lounge. but always a real one in front of the house.

As you can guess I subscribe to the humbug attitude towards the excessive consumerism of christmas. Unfortunately for me the wife and daughter #1 know the magic number to my plastic.

used to love the real ones but kept planting them in the garden after the festivities. So with a mini forest out the back we now have a fake one

I got a little black tree as I live in my house on my own and I never spend Christmas day there, so, pretty simple, has got white lights, white and red baubles and tinsel.

Also has a Nightmare Before Christmas "star" for the top

My Christmas tree is a shabby state off affairs but it was my grans and I always think of her when its put up.

The memories of how much of a wonderful giving & loving person she was means I don't think it will be replaced until its completely bare. It'll be a sad day when that happens.

Ours is a rubbish one that we got last year on a spare of the moment as we only moved onto out house on the 17th December.

I will have to put it up when Scrooge is at work though andI find the space for it

Twice we bought "non-drop" or so-called "living" trees only to have them go brown and shed all of their needles before the big day. They had reasonable but not direct light, out of a draft, not by the radiator... Went plastic after that and have no intention of reverting.
