If it has a PAIR system, or the equivalent from the other makers, it's not ill - it's happening quite deliberately as a way of reducing emissions, fuel injected modern bikes will go dry on a shut throttle, but there are still circumstances where unburnt fuel goes out the exhaust, that's what the whole PAIR etc business is about.
All such equipped bikes will pop a bit, the only variable is the audibility, which is dependant on the level of silencing.

This kit can be bought to eliminate the bangs/pops for anyone who doesn't like that sort of thing. See PAIR kits on the left hand side of the page...

Personally I don't mind the pops etc

Kinda surprised anyone would want to buy that, can't understand who'd pay money for a can and then want to shut it up. Particularly as the system does not, and indeed cannot, make any difference to the way it runs, despite the hopeless misconception that some people have, it just an emissions measure connected to the exhaust.

And if you really really must disable it, just block the PAIR valve hose/s, very cheap.

This is an option as opposed to the full kit, listed at the bottom of the page below the listing for the kit. Two blanking plates for £14.65.

I have to agree though, If you don't want more noise perhaps an aftermarket can isn't for you?
