electric mirrors?
not sure which forum was best for such a topic, this forum or sv talk tuning etc....since it seems a bit of a flippant idea to me it is in idle banter - please feel free to move mods....
a few times today i found myself having to bend the mirrors back to fit through a gap between cars (they were stationary before anyone assumes different!!)...has anyone heard of getting bike mirrors that fold in and out at the switch of a button? or am i just being pure daft by thinking such things |

Re: electric mirrors?
Could be done in theory, haven't seen anything with it on already, but you could start a new trend
Whilst you're at it, have a gas powered licence plate. Hit a button & it tucks up. Handy for those "Oh bugger speed camera & it's raining" moments, erm, so I'm told. |

Re: electric mirrors?
perhaps this could be a distracting summer project - bodge meself some james bond style gadgets for the bike.
electric mirrors for swift commuting gas powered plate gun/rocket sound generator (with headphones so i could hear the imaginary rocket thump into the back of that damn minicab in front) ben hur style retractable chariot wheel blades for keeping cyclists/moped-eers at bay cup holder there must be more options...or is this the start of me following the path to a gadget laden goldwing....nooooooooooo! |

Smurf them so you can broadcast direct on that hands free kit that they have fitted in the car, and broadcast short distances on all known radio frequencies. That way they get to hear the imaginary rocket too! |

Re: electric mirrors?
I'm surprised that some of the big tourers like the Pan don't have this already, many cars do so it should be possible to find the components from the scrap yard for a prototype. Getting it to be small and light enough to use on the bike may be the problem; it would be an intersting thing to see if you manage it.

Re: electric mirrors?
Great idea!
I would just be happy if Pointy mirrors folded |

Re: electric mirrors?
Think laterally: instead of folding *your* mirrors, why not fold the *car's* mirrors instead. A bloke on a bike did that to me once - I can tell you I was somewhat gobsmacked, then furious about his sheer nerve!

Re: electric mirrors?
The Burgman Executive has this feature.
Its one of the best features of the curvey SV, the fold back mirrors. Its possbly the thing id miss most when i get rid of her, especially commuting. |
