Me too!! Not happy bob.

Had the plunger sorted a tank ago too so was expecting more not less this time.
Have you put free flow air filter in or changed exhaust??

No I've changed nothing, I average about 130 - 140ish but this week it's way down...

Time for a service?

My curvy is doing about that - 110 to light.
Going to check the jet size. It does have a lovely sounding Remus can on - will need to have a good look over.

whilst the setup and service of the bike have an effect on consumption*, the journey type as well as throttle use tend to have more.

On a recent trip in ice and snow (necessitating smooth throttle application) it raise mileage per tank to close to 140, on a bike that under normal use returns 100.

* also you have the "my bike does 145 mph" effect with consumption exaggeration as well......

Cheers Mark.

yup as rictus points out it's to do with your right hand and condition of bike. for instance a loose, worn or badly adjusted chain will eat at your petrol consumption.

Hmmm, I haven't been particularly heavy handed this week or had any unusual journeys.

I have been thinking of new chain, sprockets & service. But I'll also be needing some new hoops soon & was putting the rest off so I can do it all at once.... But I'll check the chain tension tonight.

How much difference can a can make to fuel usage? As the bike came with a renegade can on it, should I be checking the carbs?

every little helps. depending on the mileage and when a service was last done.

air filter
oil and filter
spark plugs
carb balance
brakes
tyre pressures

you say 115miles but how many litres are you putting in for the 115miles?

keep your petrol receipts and write the mileage down on the back. you can then work out your MPL/MPG. i do this as it gives an indication if there is something wrong if my MPG starts to go down.

1. Standard Maintenance (Chain light lube & tension, check chain sprocket condition / age, clean bike, check brakes not binding, check wheel bearings are OK)
2. Tyre pressures and condition (a rear tyre with a flat middle has much more rolling resistance than a new nicely rounded tyre).
3. Service
4. Carb Balance
5. Petrol (Some cheap stuff is propper crud)
6. Less right wrist

My curvy has done about 4500 miles from new and I recently got 145 miles from fill up (Shell) to light on a reasonable run with some quick riding at points

Jim

133 yesterday from brimmed to flashing.

Pretty sure I got more when I used Shell Advance the time before.
