Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
I use fuelly for keeping track, 12.81 litres for 115 miles, that's 42.9 miles a gallon. 15p a mile...
There are other Curvy's of the same year averaging 69 miles a gallon.. http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/suzuki/sv650s My Girl has done some miles but still...... |

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
My old curvy varies a lot.If I take it into central London it will double the fuel consumption compared to a trip up the A1,especially if the bike is heavy.Air filter, plugs tyres and chain do make a significant difference too.
(Not to mention choke plungers)

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
Howdy folks, stupiod question but how do you work out MPG? I usually get 130ish to flashing light and that works out at 10 miles per litre or so. I recently noticed a sudden increase in consumption too and I'd love to know what's caused it. I'm doing 115 to flashing now with no real difference in journey or riding style.

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
My 2006 pointy got anything between 125 to 155 miles before the light came on, depending on throttle use. Max out of one tank was about 180.
I can also get 164 miles from my Daytona 955i on a mixed A road/motorway run when not particularly hanging about before the light comes on, and I know this because I once filled up in Betws y Coed in Wales and the light came on just as I left junction 2 on the A14 (Market Harborough exit). My ferry from Ireland had been badly delayed arriving into Holyhead due to adverse weather, and I wasn't hanging around because I wanted to get home at a reasonable hour. 170 miles without stopping and still a few litres of fuel left in the tank. |

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
Nicely googled Tom
Now lets see if we can figure out the MPG if there's 10 miles per litre, and 4.54 litres in a gallon |

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
that's a relief, those pesky Americans were getting me all confused. An American gallon is about 3.5 litres isn't it... maybe I should try Google !!
