Default Conundrum?!?!

OK I've got two bikes which i'm looking at and I have to decide which one I want to buy.

Both are SV650s and would like some advice on which is the better deal.

From a Dealer:
SV650s (yellow)
X reg, 11000 miles on the clock, v.good condition, rear hugger £2800

From private:
S650s (silver)
k3, 195000 miles on the clock, good condition, rear hugger, race can, double-bubble screen £2400

Any suggestions appreciated.

195k!!! It might just have reached the end of it's useful life!!!

Seriously, the silver K3 sounds like the better option if you can live without the dealer's warranty. But, as it's a private sale make sure you check it out thoroughly before committing to buy. 20k miles is only just run in!

I would probably go with the Dealer even though is an extra £400, you will get peace of mind that any faults he will fix for you, as most dealers will give you some sort of warrantee, be it only a month. long enough to find most faults.

Having said that the K3 may have a few months left on its warrantee, and the extras are very tempting. Is the seller going to let you have the orginal can. if not find out why, it may have been damaged in a drop.

What is owner of the K3 like - does he seem pukka? As they say, rough owner, rough bike................

When was the K3 first registered? Could be a few months of the manufacturer's warranty left anyway.

Do an HPI check on the bike for outstanding finance.

I agree with Cronos - get the K3, and then have it sprayed blue

Yeah the owner of the K3 seems like an alright bloke, the original can is still available and hes going to give me both.

And for the whole spraying it blue thing..... I think it'll be yellow because everyone knows yellow ones get more girls
