Default Our free day out

So there I was, just waking up at 13:00 after I got in late in the morning when I get a text.. It's from Dr Rich

"Big BM testday, 800's ect at Bath Road"

So I rings him up and he tells me they have a load of bikes for people to take out, just take your license. Cool...

It's on tomorrow too so I suggest you pop down and have a butchers..

For all you people out there that may have had the same thoughts as me.. "I HATE BM's they're soooo fuggin ugly with the cyclinders sticking out of the side.." Shut up and go have a go. Can I suggest the K1200 R and I'm sure Rich will back me up and he'll also heartily recommend another. It's the 800cc one. All the different letters confused me.. Aw bless. He recons that it is a serious contender for the SV, infact I'll let him tell you about it, he loved the brakes on it too.

I can't put the others on, oh well. I'm going out now any way.

See you I'll put the pictures on interphotobuckety thing tomorrow

Stetchie

**EDIT**

Look close at this exhaust... Remind you of anything fellas??? I don't think the sales bloke was too impressed when I asked him if this design was done on purpose.. Apparantly I'm never going to be allowed to own a BMW after that comment

And all followed up by a quick visit to the Ducati dealership.
Mmmm, this'd make a nice weekend bike

I can't get down there unfortunately, but the BMW's are meant to be really good fun to ride as I hear from everyone who has!

Still think they're fugly though.

I understand. I do too BUT I like that K1200 R (4 cylinders, no sticky out bits ) , I think that was quite good looking and sounded great.

"I want THAT one"

It was a brilliant free day out, lots of food, loads of bikes to try and chavy girls

Ive not ridden enough similar bikes to be evry informative and can only give my ill formed opinions but...

I posted about the 800 elsewhere. I dont like the looks but I thought it was a lot of fun. DAS riders with a bit more to spend might go for it I reckon. The lack of chain will be a tempter for the mechanically ungifted older newbie (rioghtly or wrongly). I dont like the looks but the naked should be nice. I liked the 800 so much I shortly after nearly fell off my GS in celebration

The K1200R is great fun, although the bars are a little sports-like for my liking. Id have liked to seen a wider set on it. It feels only part like a naked bike. Then again Im used to very wide bars. But its a rocket from just about any point in the rev range.
It didnt feel very involving TBH but you are just doing everything so quick. I wonder if this is the 'Honda bland' feel . My GS feels a much more involved ride although much less smooth and much much slower of course. I'm not up to speed with the figures as I'm not that interested in sports bikes and I bet a blade and a GSXR1000 whips its ass but the K1200R has two things that they dont IMO: a real head turning presence (a la Buell) and a rarity value.

Ha haa haaa I totally forgot about that.

Oh and I was behind Rich when he rode the big bike, and at EVERY set of lights or when we had to stop for anything (junction ect) he was bouncing up and down and shaking his fist, like an excited school boy with a new toy, I thought he was going to wet himself.. I think he liked it
