I salvaged the living room carpet we inherited with the house when we had (much nicer) carpeting fitted after our building works. I laid it in the garage, very roughly cut to size. It serves a purpose but I hope you do a better job than me RT

Thinking about it, I helped my dad put down a carpet remnant in my parent's shed/summerhouse as well, which was much easier as it was all straight lines.

The lad and I fitted new carpets through out the house when we moved in some 15 + years ago. We made a real good job including the open flight stairs, much better than the 'professional' fitted one we ripped out. Its something I am very proud of! Think this will be my last though as the years go by it just gets harder .

Everything seems to take more effort and time for me these days. I quite rightly blame my age.

Just got back from from the annual London get together with my uni mates, and unlike previous years we all went over to tea or coffee after just three drinks. And we were all glad when the first of us suggested heading back to our respective mainline station a good hour earlier than last year. Seems we're all getting older...

I arranged the meet up with my ex BT works colleagues on Tuesday. (those still alive and kicking that is! Two went to a better place this summer ( hopefully ) It was a privilege to work with them, its about the only thing I miss re work. We have followed a similar path Trev re get togethers, used to be loads of beer and a nap on the bus home. Now its copious mugs of coffee before a couple of beers then we head home.(All cheap stuff at Wetherspoons, times change. Hope the retirement plans go well . ps The conservatory carpet looks good, not quite finished but I have another 14 days before I get sent to Coventry!

Evening all. Well that was a very wet day! Out walking in it this morning, thankfully with decent waterproofs to keep me dry.

Looking better tomorrow thankfully, as I have my annual trip to the rheumatology department at Gobowen. I'll take the bike as I can park that for free, rather than having to pay to park the car. Going to be cold, so the heated vest will be used for the trip there and back.

Final trip of the year to Llandrindod on Wednesday for my last TSP meeting of 2025. Sadly, I think I'll have to take the car as the forecast is for another bout of very wet weather.

Hope you all had a decent weekend.

Not sure if it was the same for the rest of you but the sun forgot to rise here today...

Once the initial cloud cleared away around 8.30 this morning, we had a really nice sunny day here Trevor. The ride to Gobowen this afternoon was quite pleasant, although I was grateful for the heated vest on the way back as the temperature dropped rapidly after 3.30.

Back to the wet weather today. It rained most of the way to Llandrindod and back, so sadly, a car journey rather than the bike.
