Re: SFV 650 out this year!
It would be great if they could bring out a "posh" SV, same efficient motor that IMO has a good level of power for staying within the speed limits, fully adjustable suspension, better brakes and maybe some sort of kit you could buy that makes it easy to have clip on's or naked bars.

I imagine they're just dropping the "Gladius" name to bring it in line with the other markets.

Re: SFV 650 out this year!
All we really want is a curvy SV roadster with an "R" designation, to take on the Ducati Monster market segment, and a curvy SVs with a properly designed, attractive full fairing, rather than those gash looking lowers.
Perhaps with improved manufacturing and FI, make a 600 for taxation purposes and then a 900 version. for those who want a bit more power. The original curvy SV was pretty, cheap and accessible.

Best plan for suzuki is to jump on the adventure bike band wagon and earn some mony.
Then think about a naked. Kawasaki have the stomp on the comuter / fun bike with the EN.

But it needs to be tricked up.
The 650 has a hard fight on its hands with the versay.http://suzuki-vstrom.com/en/concept/index.html

Re: SFV 650 out this year!
well my wish list would be a 650 dressed like the KTM Duke, under seat zuast, funky headlight, high gearing for wheelieing delight
you could even keep the budget forks and springs oh oh oh and a thou version |

Re: SFV 650 out this year!
Suzuki have just had another blow - they are doing a mass recall on GSXR's from 2004 onwards for replacement master cylinder. Most models have been included and it will cost them a fortune. Details in MCN last week.

With regards to the recall, at least they're willing to shell out and do it. It'll cost a bit, but the M/C is produced by Nissin so expect everyone that used the same items to follow suit (and nissin foot the bill)

Re: SFV 650 out this year!
Spoke to someone in a Suzuki dealer about this today. Apparently it usually emanates in the US. Suzuki solicitors do an estimate of the potential compensation that would be payable if someone got injured and sued them. They then also consider the risk to their reputation and estimate a value for this. They then compare this with how much the recall would cost and make a decision from there. In this case the "issue" is the return spring inside the master cylinder - because brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water) there is a slim chance that the spring will rust and fail. Consequently they are replacing the spring with a better quality one.
