Curvy 'S' oil pump gear - SV650.org

Hi all, just a quick question ... is the oil pump drive gear in my 1999 curvy 'S' the steel variant or the plastic version?
I've searched various forums etc but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

The 1999 model was plastic as standard to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the reply, I keep seeing conflicting statements on the 99, some say it's plastic, some say it's steel ! I've also seen parts sellers describing their 99 parts as oem... plastic & steel ! Bit confusing tbh, i didn't want to have it all apart only to find its already a steel gear.

If steel gears were fitted originally there would be no market for an upgrade steel part... so originals in earlier engine must have been plastic.
