How much for a K7 with 10k?

Am about to try and sell the bike. Rung up a dealer just to get a ballpark figure for my K7 sport with 10k miles on the clock and he reckoned that it was worth 2-2,250 - WHAT!!!

I figured that I would be able to get at least 3k for it!

Grrrr - I hate dealers. Think I need to sell the SV ASAP as selling it privately with over 10,000 miles on the clock could be tricky.

What do you guys think I should advertise it for?

Look on bike trader to get some ideas of price first. I always priced mine a couple hundred quid above similar to give me more room for hagglers. Seemed to work well.

That's the problem with a bike that is cheap as chips to start off with.
My K6 has just under 18000 and is going to be really silly money if I sell it. Pity really, as it is a well looked after bike.

?3k for it private if you lucky, but I doubt it.

I tried for ages to sell mine which was a K6 sport registered december 06 so nearly an 07 it only had 3500 on the clock and was advertised at ?3k for months with no interest.

Nobody is really buying anything at the moment, its a very hard time to be selling.

P/x it if you can but that price does seem about right for the mileage dealer wise.

Stick it in Bike trader and MCN for 2900 privately and see what you can fetch. I got 2550 for my 4900-mile K4 in the end. Possibly could have got more, but I wanted a quick sale.

I'd put it up for just over 3k but you may have to dip just under 3k..

Selling it private is your best chance of getting a good price. Selling to a dealer and you'll get robbed. You may be able to haggle a dealer to get a better price if your using at as part ex.

A private sale will almost always beat a part-ex, and if you're cash-rich from a private sale you can then buy privately too, cutting out the dealer margin.

Worked for me, anyway.

Does seem bit on the low side.. I part exchanged my K6 with 12k miles for 2200..

Hmm - rubbish. 2 issues -
1 - Thought it might be a good idea to get rid of the bike quickly as I currently have 9,700 miles on the clock and selling with 10k+ might be harder.
2 - I cant be without a bike at any point as I use it to get to work and I have no other transport.

Not sure what to do. Might just buy the new bike on credit and then sell pay off as much of the finance as I can once i have the cash...can you put more money than the minumum on a loan part way through? Not sure you can.
