Default Track tyres ...

OK Im currently running macadams on my 02 and im going off to Germany soon to ride on the nurburg ring.

I've been told by a mate that these are going to turn blue and kill me if I take them so I need to get some new ones put on before hand.

I have no idea when it comes to tyres and would greatly appreciate some advice on a good pair of tyres which will get me to on and back from the ring

thanks all

The US guys seem to be all over the Pilot Powers... Might be sticking a pair of those on next.

MOST MINITWIN RACERS USE
METZELER RENNSPORT TRACK SC2 (MED COMP REAR) AND SC1 (SOFT COMP FRONT)
OR
PIRELLI SUPERCORSA TRACK ( SAME COMPOUNDS AS ABOVE )

FOR ROAD JOURNEY'S AND THE OCCASIONAL TRACK THRASH I WOULD RECOMEND
DUNLOP D 207RR'S
OR THE SOFT ROAD VERSIONS OF THE PIRELLI/METZELER COMBINATIONS

Just go for a sensible tyre: Diablo, Road Attack, 020 etc which are all more than capable of being sticky enough round the 'Ring at SV speeds. There's no point in putting on super sticky rubber that will only last 2-3000 miles (unless you're minted) and also delude yourself it'll significantly make a huge difference, because IMO it won't.
