Using a front paddock stand... help!(fitment problem)

Just tried using my front Micron paddock stand for the first time and I just cant seem to get it on the right fork leg that has the bolt at the bottom. As I start to lift the bike it just looks like its going to slip off!

Anyone got any tips? (Yes I have the rear stand on whilst trying to do this)

i forget what i did (since the bike's off the stands now) but all i can say is that yes the front stands do look unstable don't they :S

i have to say i don't remember a bolt at the bottom of the fork leg but i do remember that i think the stand was not really quite wide enough for the sv forks (are they incredibly wide or something?!) and it was pretty tight.

you could put something up to the front tyre after you've got it on the stand perhaps? that's what i did, to give me a bit of reassurance it wouldn't slip off (i pushed a work bench up against it).

p.s. mine is an oxford not micron stand, no idea if that changes things.

Same here I don't trust mine either, so I am going to get one with the pins on so they will slot into the holes in the bottom of the forks!

i had a champion front stand with the pins on, that didnt look stable either so i eBay'd it.

My Micron front paddock stand hooks under the steering stem, is there another type?
