Hi Ged, try searching "rear brake light pointy". You will probably find what you need in a previous post. Pretty sure your brake lights will be by LED bulbs.

Yes, I have just had a look myself and you are right! Not easy to find a relevant thread. I found this one....

Re: rear Break light on sv650s
same old problem... with rear switch on bikes lol. The tail light is working and the brake adjustment light spring is working so i need to check the rear bulb..but how do you get to it on a sv650 o6 model. If it not bulb then its the break rear lever spring switch. Thanks for your help.

Re: rear Break light on sv650s
Not sure what your symptoms are exactly. If the brake light is not coming on at all suggest use a voltmeter to see if you have switched current to the brake light unit (maybe at the connector between the rear light unit and the rest of the loom, which you should be able to access) when you operate the front lever and or brake pedal operated switch, with the ignition on. If you have current to the brake lights but no brake lights coming on, suspect a faulty light unit or poor connection from where you tested, to the unit. Hope that helps.
Hopefully someone else will be able to give a more detailed diagnostic. It will help if you describe your fault in detail. |

Does the brake light work with the front brakes?
