Default Pointy v Curvy gearbox

Does anybody know wether the gearbox is the same on a curvy and pointy? The reason I ask is that I race a minitwin (badly) and noticed that some (very quick) curvys run a tooth or two different rear sprockets. I have been told that the curvy boxes are different but have not been able to get a definitive answer.
Thanks

They're not completely identical, but the ratios are the same. At least all the ones I know are anyway.

From K5 onwards the selector star (or whatever its call cant remember exactly) is updated to reduce false neutrals but I have never had that problem on my normal curvy gearbox.

I dont believe there are any other differences apart from bearing upgrades.

They are probably running different gearing because they are carrying more speed out of the corners onto the straight.

It sounds like the final drive is running something like 14/47.
