I do hope the weekend is nice. It's been mainly OK through the office windows all week so if it hurls it down on Sunday, which I've set aside for a run to a huge bike shop to see if they've got any luggage on display, I'll be miffed.

Last week when we were on helliday with my extended family it rained pretty much every day and last night the wind and rain in the trees around Trev Towers made it sound very autumnal. I want to get out and ride my new bike and will all the chrome on it I don't want to spend as long or more cleaning it afterwards!

You've picked a bad country to have a chrome bike in

Pretty much every day for the past 2 weeks have been showers

I've just lit the Rayburn. Feels more like October than August.

I fished out the warmer duvet last night - it should have stayed in the cupboard for at least another two months.

I would rather have our present weather than the droughts, +40 deg C and forest fires a lot of Southern Europe is getting.

We lived in Australia for best part of 10 years and had our fill of hot weather, droughts, floods, flies and forest fires - how we longed for a nice cool rainy British day.

Last spell of hot weather we had in UK earlier this summer everyone seemed really tired and short tempered because no-one could sleep properly.

Agree with you there. I don't mind getting the warmer duvet out as long as I don't have to wake up shivering* in the middle of the night to go hunting through cupboards in the spare room to find it.

*slight exaggeration bit I did feel cold

I'm assuming by "southerners" you mean all of us south of the Forth, we all drink shandy down here.
