A plea to the Madlanders
On the 7th December, I will be part of a team taking over the Barnados store at the Fox & Goose Shopping Centre, in Washwood Heath for a day. We are competing with other teams in Edinburgh and London, to see who can raise the most money on the day for Barnados by selling, auctioning or raffling as much stuff as possible. WTF has that got to do with you? Well, I am not asking for your money, what I am looking for is any contacts that you might have in the area where we could try and blag some goodies that can be used for fundraising, such as:-
Anyone got any names/numbers (or any actual prizes or goods!)?
Thanks Matt

Re: A plea to the Madlanders
I did something similar once for a charity event, I phoned local store/company head offices and explained and loads sent me stuff through the post.
Going into locals places didnt work as their hands are tied and they told me to approach their head office. I would phone/write to places like Hoarcross Hall for spa days etc see what they can offer.... awesome place and people would love it male/female http://www.hoarcross.co.uk/

Re: A plea to the Madlanders
Matt, i live about 3-4 mile away from there, the area is predominantly asian now, i doubt a lot of the very local businesses will donate.
There is a 2 B&Q stores quite close, one of them is the warehouse style, they have been quite generous with other pleas for help. The hospitals have asked them before for paint etc to spruce up wards or family rooms and they have donated. I will certainly have a look at my stuff and sort some stuff out. Phil |

Re: A plea to the Madlanders
Cheers Shel & Phil.
The plan is that we will do an online auction at work for the best prizes - see if we can get a load of bankers to part with a decent wedge of money! We will then use other prizes as a raffle in the shop on the day, along with selling anything that we think we might be able to make a few quid from!

The wife has also reminded me about a large tesco's over the road from there, they can put their hands in their pockets.
