in memory of...
This is just a note to share with all the good folks of the SV world that Clive, my best friend of some 30yrs, died last friday aged 63. It wasn't bike related, more sort of natural causes, but he loved his SV and bikes in general and made his living from preparing engines for classic bike racing.
He had a yellow SK1-S like mine in the avatar, in fact we bought them together as a "pair", consecutive numbers. We'd always try to get over to France at least once a year for a few days enjoying the open roads of Normandy and Brittany, and I'll keep the memories of those trips, the great times we had. The only saving grace was that it was very sudden and quick, he collapsed and went into a coma within a matter of minutes, didn't suffer, and sadly died a day later. I'm going to see his wife tomorrow. Just remember folks, life is short so don't take it for granted. |

That's really moving, you must be devastated. But sounds like he had a happy, fulfilling life, which is more than some can say. Hope he's doing some great twisties in the sky.... RIP.

Re: in memory of...
Condolences - but not sad ones, more ones with a half smile for a life well lived.

Re: in memory of...
Sincere thanks everyone, we all get to know how it feels to lose someone close sooner or later.
Yes, he did enjoy his life, and so should we all, and I'll be able to smile about the good times we had for many years (hopefully!). |
