Suzuki has launched a special edition SV1000 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the GSX-R, giving the new bike the same colour scheme as the GSX-R range......

Specs ripped from Suzuki:

Against SV1000K5:

Max Power: 120 PS (88.o Kw) @ 9,000 rpm
Max Torque: 102 Nm @ 7,200 rpm
Piston Displacement: 996 cc
Compression Ratio: 11.3 : 1
Carburettor: Fuel injection 52 mm
Lubrication: Wet sump

Nice that it got higher compression as well as aesthetics.

Not my thing, but I can see why people would like it.

Errm, MCN say it's got higher compression, do they mean over the K4 or the K5 SV thou? Cos I'm pretty sure the K5 has a black frame and wheels, so that suggests MCN are talking out of their arses a bit (who's surprised?)

Its very nice, but why make a special edition SV to celebrate 20 years of the GSX-R?!

Guess the new GSX-R 1000 is so mental that they didnt know how to top it!

but which bike is that? The special edition or standard. I'm assuming it's the K5 going by the peak power.
