As Bibio says, it's the clutch switch. If you clean it, etc and it still doesn't work you can bypass it temporarily while you arrange for a replacement.
Simply unplug the connector and ram a u-shaped piece of wire between the two contacts and switch will be bypassed. Not a long-term solution!

My 2014 Gladys had similar symptoms which disappeared by cleaning the contacts inside right hand switch gear. Headlight should go off when you hit the starter button so it is not necessary sign of load.

After cleaning the clutch switch and spraying with ACF-50 the problem occurs a lot less. Service is due in 1.5k miles so I'll have the electrics thoroughly checked.
