Wife and daughter in Cuba for a fortnight. Having to force myself to cook for 1 is hard work, I ended up in the local chippy for the first time in an age last night. Getting enough clothing together to fill the washing machine takes an age. A total lack of any incentive.

Two weeks sat in your three day old pants eating what you want with your feet up and full control of the remote is hardly a gripe

Agreed Geo.

My wife was supposed to go away on a training course yesterday, but it was cancelled

I was looking forward to getting things done, without her under my feet.

Worse still, she's booked a double glazing sales person to come and give us a quote on Wednesday.

Who on earth agrees to cold callers giving you a quote

One thing I can't start is cold calling, whether it be for double glazing or charity...they all get the same respond of not interested, bye, door closed.

If it were me I'd be saying hello and goodbye to him on Wednesday without a foot ever entering the house!

ICE!

First real icy day being on the bike EVER!

Back it up down the drive and straight away loose my right foot that slips out. I managed to just hold the bike up and plant my foot again but it wasn't a good start considering I was about to go ride on it for the first time...

Main roads where ok, the normal sea of diesel from the local buses of course :/ Just those pesky side streets that freeze over like a lake.

When I can't walk down the drive it's time to get in 4 wheels.
Even then the rain had frozen over the doors. So had to chuck warm water on them!
