Default BOOTS.......Had OXTAR & Alpinestars.....???

Need boots. Got wiiiiiiddddeeee feet. Tempted to order online, but when I last bought (2003/4) I think I found Sidi were too narrow.

I think I bought Oxtar ..... which developed a fault......& were definitely replaced by Oxtar TCS. The local dealer was just replacing old stock with new & the old were too narrow for me, but the new ones fine.

So obviously don't want to get something that doesn't fit.
Does anyone have knowledge of the roominess of Alpinestar SMX3 compared to OXTAR....?

i've got Oxtars now, and i found most alpinestars were too narrow for me, but the SMX-R seems to be a fair bit wider than the rest of the range.
the SMX-4 was wider than most alpinestars, but still not as good at the SMX-R for me.

Over the last few years I've had Oxtars. Non gore tex & gore tex. For the extra few bob I think gore tex is worth it's weight in gold.

Had the TCS Gore tex.

They were brilliant. I do the odd bit of instructing so am walking in them a bit. After 4 years (about 20,000 miles) they started to leak ever so slightly at the left toe where the boot bends when your walking. Bought a pair of Puma Brutale this year but only because I fancied trying something else. Wouldn't hesitate to return to the Oxtars.

I've got SMX3 goretex. I haven't got wide feet, and they are quite a snug fit, so they're probably not right for you.

I've got wide feet - ended up in Daytona's as nothing else offered any comfort.

Thanks for all the reply folks.
Concensus is SMX3's will be too narrow.
Daytona bit steep for me. Had the Oxtar & they fitted ok, but fancied a change....

No Cloggsy, bit too plain, though I know they're highly regarded.

I'm going to visit a big retailer & see what fits.
