Project Thou!
Its not going to be an awesome project thread but i like documenting stuff.
History, I took this basic k5 from this: To this beauty: BUT i sold her back in 2014 (and owner made her ugly again) with a brief 3 month stint with a cbr: I sold her as it was too easy to be doing double the speed limit and just didn't have the engine breaking i loved from my 7 years with an SV. So now..... and how i feel when ever i ride her! She has dual harpoon exhausts (never herd of them myself) I've de-snorkeled her. Just re-sprayed the pillion cover and infills to match the bike. She has heated grips, but the control unit died when a pigeon garotted itself in the cables and unit with the previous owner, wiring is still there so just need to get a unit for it. I've got a spare seat coming so i can make her a super comfy mile muncher. Now the next plan (along with service and tps adjustment and sorting sticky keys) Is to make her more colourful and unique, I think bright colour may be on the cards!!

Re: Project Thou!
Nice one! Looking forward to see how this turns out. One thing that improves the look of K3/K4 nakeds is changing that big wide radiator to a more compact K5> one

Re: Project Thou!
Great looking bike! I'll look forward to your progress!
I like the idea of the narrower radiator as mine does stick out rather a lot and its looking grubby with the black finish coming off. ......to the ebay!!

What's it like along The Dukes Pass? How many gears do you need?

Re: Project Thou!
Cheers guys.
Chucca, only really need 3rd to cruise over it. If pushing it I'll use 2nd and torque throws you out the corners.

Re: Project Thou!
Nice, were I to get another SV it would be a naked thou.
Assuming Aberfoyle in second to last pic and Tyndrum in the last? I generally do the Dukes Pass in second the whole way. Oh and CBR's are awesome you shoulda kept it |
