Default Drain tank issues

Ive renewed the plugs this morning, checked and they had a nice fine blue spark before they went in.

I started up the bike and found that it was idling high - could new plugs cause a change in idling speed?

Ive also had a look around the air hoses etc, found a couple bunged (what the hell?) and found other ones normal and not kinked in any fashion. What i did find however was the drain tank at the bottom of the air filter housing was absolutely full of gunk, im wondering if its blocking and preventing air flow.

Have any of you guys split this case before? It seems to be sealed shut. Is the drain tank from the air filter housing a consumable, renewable part?

The ignition system seems to be ok, as there are nice sparks running through to the spark plugs. Im wondering why its idling so high?

Any and all help appreciated!

Is it a curvy?Check that the airbox is fully seated on the carbs and there are no intake air leaks. You may have disturbed it while working on the bike, and then check the choke plungers where they enter the carbs. These crud up and stick, effectively leaving the choke partially on.You need to remove the plungers(nasty little screw made of soft cheese)and lube them up.Lube the choke cables too.

That tube is for one reason only, and thats to allow the water from the Filler cap to drain out. Failing that just turn the idel speed down a bit. A new set of plugs can cahnge the idel speed if your old plugs were completely shot!
