Default A garage I recommend. Service.

Great Garage to use in the tees Area is Frontline motors, South bank middlesbrough. £80 for a full service. nearest competitor was £140!!!
The guy is a real straight talking fella and as a bonus he likes the SV as its simple to work on and in his words is a solid reliable bike.

Mines done just over 10,000. said he'd check compression and if crap he'd do the valve shimming, but they don't usually need doing till later. Then the usual and an all round check. Probably the same as the bloke charging £140 except i keep 360 in my pocket :^)

Not sure I agree with using compression test to check valve clearance, but since that check is not due anyway I would not say it's a bad check to do.

I've used Frontline, and can add that the guy really knows his stuff. He's quite happy for you to be in the workshop when he's working and willing to explain what he's doing and why he's doing it.

Last service I had done I asked about about iridium spark plugs. He said he would get them if I wanted them but that they were expensive for the marginal benefit they gave to the average biker, especially as a lot of bikers also change their bikes relatively frequently. He also fitted two new tyres a lot cheaper than anywhere else locally.
